Finally a premium band for a Galaxy

I don’t know if it's just me, but I find it extremely difficult to find a good solid watch band for any smartwatch not called the Apple Watch. Usually the this-party bands for watches like the Pixel Watch of Galaxy Watches are either cheap but poorly made, or not too aesthetically pleasing. That’s why I was quite excited to learn that Aulumu, a brand known for their industrial-looking accessories, now sells what they call a luxury embossed band for the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This is the same style and material that they produce for the Apple Watch Ultra so yay for equality.

One of my biggest frustrations with third-party bands is the inevitable sizing gamble. Thankfully, Aulumu sidesteps this headache entirely right out of the box. Every CS03 package actually ships with both a short (165mm) and a long (205mm) strap option, which covers wrist circumferences ranging from 145mm to a massive 230mm. It’s a huge relief because you don’t have to stress about breaking out a measuring tape before hitting "buy" or dealing with annoying returns because the fit was slightly off.
Aulumu is doubling down on that premium, industrial vibe they’re known for. This strap utilizes a custom-engineered connector that provides a perfect 1:1 fit for the Galaxy Watch Ultra series. It sits remarkably flush against the watch case, completely eliminating those frustrating gaps or the loose wiggling you often find with cheaper alternatives.

The strap is constructed from an ultra-fine, breathable nylon weave. Aulumu offers this band in two configurations, Black Titanium and Natural Titanium. They’re meant to be paired with the finish of the Watch Ultra that you own, but you’re not obligated to match them if you don’t want to. Both of the bands come with an orange accent stripe on the buckle to match the orange accents that are standard for the Ultra. While standard silicone straps tend to trap heat and moisture against your skin, this high-density fiber is excellent at managing sweat. It feels just as natural during a long day at the keyboard as it does during a heavy workout. It is a soft texture that doesn’t irritate my skin after a full day wearing it. I actually find this to be one of my favorite materials on a watch band that I’ve worn in a very long time.
The buckle is forged from lightweight titanium, mirroring the rugged build of the Ultra itself. To ensure it stays looking pristine, they’ve even applied a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, providing a serious layer of scratch resistance for everyday durability. The dark, utilitarian aesthetic provided by the black band paired with that matte titanium hardware delivers a sharp, sophisticated edge that feels right at home in a professional setting. This is a masculine presenting design that might limit the intended buyers looking for something like this.
Magnetic Quick-Release
The absolute standout feature of the CS03 has to be the proprietary magnetic fastening system. Usually, securing a rugged timepiece involves a clumsy battle with rigid notches, but Aulumu has engineered a dual-secure closure that simplifies the experience. You first dial in a precise, personalized fit using the micro-adjustments on the reinforced hook-and-loop base layer, and then rely on the magnetic titanium buckle to snap the band open or closed for your daily wear. If you need an ELI5, velcro the length of the band, then magnet clip the buckle to each other. Simple as that.
The beauty here is that once you’ve set up your perfect size, the days of constant readjustment are over. That magnetic buckle facilitates a near-instant, one-second process for putting the watch on or taking it off, while the underlying hook-and-loop layer provides the peace of mind that your device won’t go flying off during a high-intensity workout. There’s no need to look for the right hole on your band every morning, or tighten and loosen a strap to fit your wrist. It’s essentially permanently locked into the size of your wrist.

Should You Buy?
Commanding an MSRP of approximately $60, the Aulumu CS03 definitely positions itself in the more expensive tier of aftermarket accessories, but the detailed craftsmanship and smart implementation of the “set it once and don’t touch it again” sizing make a strong case for that investment. By merging a breathable fabric weave with the rugged resilience of a DLC-treated titanium buckle and the pure efficiency of their unique magnetic fastening, Aulumu has created a strap that feels just as appropriate in a creative studio as it does on a demanding mountain trail.
I really do love how this watch band makes an otherwise bulky watch face feel much more accommodating to wear on my wrist. It completely changes the dynamic of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This is a rather large watch in the first place as this is a 47MM buckle band, but Aulumu certainly knows how to design a reasonable solution for vital accessories and the CS03 is no exception. If you like the style and color of the band, then there’s no real downside to picking one of these up for the Watch Ultra as I find it to be one of if not the best watch bands for Samsung’s flagship watch. That includes Samsung’s own OEM bands by the way.
