For those like myself who have asthma, pets, or frequent allergy concerns, you know how important it is to have an air purifier in your home. The DREO Purifier Tower Fan not only functions as a standalone fan that can blow air at up to 40 feet but also functions as an air purifier complete with a HEPA filter. Let’s take a closer look.

Great for Shared Living Spaces

Weighing in at just under 18 lbs, the DREO Purifier Tower Fan stands tall in any space. Its slim modern design makes it appealing in all rooms, but with its 46” height and 11” depth and width, I find the fan to sit best in an open living room or family area. While this fan can be used in a smaller office or guest bedroom, it’s most suitable in a larger room considering the fan can blow air at up to 40 feet. As the industry’s first dual-motor purifier tower fan, there’s a lot of power in here. Yet where it truly stands apart is thanks to its ability to both blow air and purify either separately or simultaneously together. It’s two things at once or individually for the price of one.

Features and Functions

The top of the fan houses a touch-screen control panel. Users can control the fan either through this panel, the DREO app, or the included remote control. I’ve used all three and they work equally great. Just below the control panel sits the LED display that indicates the current settings that are enabled and the air quality indicator light. These light colors will range from blue for excellent, green for good, orange for moderate, or red for poor. The fan itself sits in the middle of the unit and the cone shaped bottom of the tower houses the HEPA filter that’s included with the purchase, as well as the power base. Installing the HEPA filter is as easy as pulling the two slats out, slotting the filter in and reassembling. Note that the filter type is a HEPA H13 filter which will sift out most pollutants but not necessarily odors. I like to keep the purifier on while cooking and while it doesn’t necessarily remove all the odor, I do notice it at least helps to circulate the air. I’m hoping future versions will allow users to use filters that can remove odors.

Despite the competitive space in the home technology arena packing a bunch of features into these products, I do appreciate that DREO made the Purifier Tower Fan incredibly easy to use. First, let’s talk about the fan modes. There’s multiple modes for the fan including Normal/Auto/Sleep/Breeze. In normal mode, users have full control over the power of the fan itself and can pick from 12 varying fan speeds. In auto mode, DREO will automatically detect the ambient temperature and adjust accordingly. For those who place this in a bedroom, sleep mode will quiet the fan sound and decrease the speed every 30 minutes so that it’s comfortable and doesn’t disturb much during sleep time. My favorite mode while keeping this fan in my living room is breeze mode. It both quiets the sound and strength of the air blowing so that it becomes a gentle breeze. Just like other fans, the DREO Purifier Tower Fan can also oscillate at angles of 30/60/90/120 degrees. It also has a timer mode with up to 24 hour functionality. There’s even a Memory mode on the fan so that if it’s turned off, it’ll keep the settings from the previous time it was on so you don’t have to readjust your unit again.

Not Just a Fan…

The DREO Purifier Tower Fan has a unique ability to purify without needing to have fan mode on

What’s Different?

What sets this fan apart from others, even the more expensive units in the market, is its unique ability to purify as a separate mode from the fan. I appreciated this deeply, as my house does a pretty good job of staying cool in the winter and I just like to have a purifier on throughout the day without air blowing everywhere. Other than turning the purifier mode on, there is nothing else the user has to do and the fan will do its work. The air quality sensor sits on the back of the fan and can be monitored on the DREO app.

In another review of the ChefMaker Combi Air Fryer, I shared how much I appreciated the detail and thought put into the DREO app. I’m equally impressed with the ease and effectiveness of the DREO app when it comes to using the purifier and other settings on the Tower Fan. You can see over 30 days how air quality and ambient temperature has changed. You can also view what percentage the life of your filter is at so that you’re reminded when to purchase a new one. You can also set schedules in the app and even make the Tower Fan voice activated using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

final thoughts

For those looking for an affordable high quality dual fan and air purifier, it’s really hard to go wrong with the DREO Purifier Tower Fan. It has a lot of the same features as its more expensive competitors while retaining the reliability and ease of connectivity and usage that I’ve come to know with the DREO brand. There’s only a few qualms I’ve had with this fan and to be honest, they’re all minor. I’d love for a future version to include an odor filter and magnetic slot for the remote. When it comes to speed, power, features and value, I’m really happy with this fan occupying space in my home.
