Instead of the term Artificial Intelligence, LG has redefined its AI solutions as “Affectionate Intelligence.” Using features like real time life intelligence and a large language model, LG hopes to use Affectionate Intelligence to seamlessly connect customers with their LG devices more easily beginning with the ThinQ platform. LG also announced new services like ChatThinQ (AI chatbot with customers), ‘3D Home View’ for visualizing integrated control spaces in homes, and a new smart home hub. LG also showcased its smart home AI agent that has a ‘two-legged’ wheel design. The robot can interact with its owners and express emotions via movement. The device is capable of controlling LG smart home appliances and can function as a pet monitor and security guard.

Transparent OLED TV

On the television front, the Korean display maker unveiled the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV, titled the SIGNATURE OLED T. With a transparent 4K OLED screen, this television is charged by the new α (Alpha) 11 AI processor. At a 77-inch screen size, the SIGNATURE OLED T blends in with its environment, and its modular build allows for it to be placed in many spots throughout a home as a design piece.

webOS Upgrades

Also announced were the new upgrades to LG’s webOS platform. The webOS Re:New program will guarantee every model in LG’s lineup, starting with 2022, to be able to upgrade their webOS software version for the next five years. Currently, webOS users are able to access customized TV interfaces on their Home Screen and sort through content in a friendly manner.

LG Styler

On of the more unique debuts was the LG Styler clothing care solution. The device features a handheld, high-pressure steamer, Dynamic Moving Hanger™, and a Dual TrueSteam™ technology that provides customers with advanced clothing care solutions. The steamer can care for a diverse range of garments and fabric types, and can remove odors, wrinkle and offer dust removal. The Styler also features an LCD touchscreen for access.
