This year at CES 2024, Honda has just unveiled its new series of EVs for global markets as a commitment to provide an all-electric vehicle lineup by 2040. Honda has called their new series of EVs, Honda 0 Series, and presented 2 concept vehicles as a symbol of its future vision.

Honda 0 Series represents its commitment to revamp what it means to develop an electric vehicle architecture, essentially starting from scratch. The new approach to the development of the 0 series is Thin, Light, and Wise. The “0” also represents Honda’s commitment to have zero environmental impact and zero traffic accident fatalities. Five core values that the 0 series will instill are “artistic design that evokes resonance, AD/ADAS that ensures safety and peace of mind, a ‘space’ for people made possible by the internet of things and connected technologies, the joy of driving with the feeling of oneness with the vehicle, and outstanding electricity efficiency performance.

wiser vehicles

Thin, Light, and Wise is Honda’s approach to creating lighter vehicles by using batteries that are significantly thinner to reduce the bulkiness and therefore reducing the body size and platform to accommodate the power source. This allows the floor height to be lower, providing easier ingress and egress as well as promoting better aerodynamic efficiency. Honda is also developing advanced vehicle technologies to effectively make their vehicles “wiser”.

adding to the lineup

Honda unveiled 2 concept electric vehicles to represent its 0 Series of EVs. The first vehicle, named the Saloon, has a low slung sporty appearance and is Honda’s flagship vehicle. The second vehicle is called the Space-Hub and has an approach of enhancing people’s everyday lives. It aims to provide a spacious cabin, offering good visibility and flexible space that is customizable to the users’ needs.

Honda aims to provide a positive experience while owning an EV by developing a charging solution that is free from stress. By minimizing battery degradation over the years of the vehicle’s life, the battery is able to last longer and will give users better peace of mind. Speaking of battery, the brand says charging for only 15 minutes can get users from 15% to 80% battery life. Honda is confident that the degradation of the battery pack will be limited to less than 10% after 10 years of being out on the road.

more to come

The brand new electric vehicle platform, the Honda 0 series, will begin its launch in the North American Market in 2026 and to other markets soon after. A brand new logo that embodies its new lineup of EVs also is presented to the world.
